Brazilian Keratin Treatment

Brazilian Straightening Keratin Treatment

Brazilian Keratin Treatment can naturally straighten curly, wavy, or frizzy hair. Natural keratin is infused deep into the hair shaft, allowing the structure to be reshaped as desired.

Keratin treatment smooths coarse and dry hair, but it can also add volume to flat hair. It improves hair quality and protects it from external damage. The treatment takes around four hours, depending on the length of the hair, and the result is soft, shiny, and straight hair.

Up to 88% of hair is made up of keratin

Keratin is a natural building material that makes up about 88% of your hair. It penetrates the hair shaft to repair internal damage and protects the outer layer to prevent further harm. Keratin is rich in sulfur and amino acids, which makes it extremely strong, flexible, and insoluble. These properties are essential for building strength, and keratin plays a major role in that process. It is the key ingredient that protects your hair, skin, and nails.

cacaooil_miniTo ensure hair integrity during the process, the treatment mixture is rich in collagen and cocoa extract, which protect the hair fibers while providing moisture, elasticity, and vitality.

1

After the straightening treatment, the hair must be kept straight and dry for TWO HOURS. It should not be tucked behind the ears or tied up in a ponytail. You can wash and tie your hair after two hours, but we recommend waiting until the next day to wash it.

2

After a keratin treatment, you must use only sulfate-free shampoos. Sulfates are the foaming agents in many shampoos, but they are so harsh that they strip keratin from the hair. A sulfate-free option is much gentler and better for maintaining the treatment.

Note: MarocanOil is not suitable for use after keratin treatment!

Avoid shampoos containing ingredients like:

Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium laureth sulfate, Sodium laureth sulfate, Sodium myreth sulfate, Sodium C12–14 olefin sulfonate, Sodium C14–16 olefin sulfonate

3

Note that shower gels and body washes also often contain sulfates, and contact with your hair should be avoided to maintain the effects of the keratin treatment.

4

You can continue using your favorite styling products without worry. Sulfates are only found in foaming cleansing products.

5

The keratin manufacturer always recommends blow-drying your hair with a brush after showering. If you go to bed with wet hair, it will naturally be wavy in the morning.

6

The duration of a keratin treatment after the first application is approximately 3 months. Please note that this may vary depending on the intensity of your natural curl and the condition of your hair.

7

We recommend coloring your hair before the keratin treatment. Bleaching opens up the hair structure so much that keratin may not stay in the hair. Other types of coloring are also best done prior to straightening—after the treatment, the hair is so full of keratin that the color may not absorb evenly or effectively.

You can color your hair about two weeks after the treatment, but we do not recommend bleaching or highlights after the keratin process.

8

We leave about one centimeter of the root area untreated with keratin. This area can be colored, but care must be taken to avoid getting dye on the straightened sections of the hair.

9

For full hair coloring, a 3% developer is recommended. Stronger developers can strip the keratin from your hair. Make sure to inform your hairdresser about this.

Most box dyes from drugstores contain 9% developers, so these should be avoided.

10

If you’re dreaming of a major haircut or style change, it’s best to do it before the keratin treatment. However, trimming and shaping can still be done after the hair has been straightened.

11

The effects of a keratin treatment last longer when the treatment is repeated regularly. The more frequently the treatment is done, the longer-lasting the straightening results will be.
